What are the odds…...

A year ago yesterday, Rob proposed at the Disneyland Blue Bayou. Within moments of the proposal a man approached our table. He was very excited and giddy. He told us he was celebrating his engagement anniversary. He proposed at the Blue Bayou a year ago. After he had proposed a couple who was celebrating their anniversary presented him & his now wife a 2 dollar bill. The 2 dollar bill was passed down from another couple who had proposed at Walt Disney World. To this man’s luck we happened to be at the same time and at the exact place. Happily he gave us the 2 dollar bill that has been passed down by 3 couples. He wished us all the luck. Now, Rob and I plan to pass on the 2 dollar bill to a couple who proposes.

I made reservations a week ago. It was pretty booked and the only times were 4 or 8:30pm. I figured 4pm would be better. But then again who proposes at 4pm.

Rob and I arrived one hour earlier to talk to the manager. I didn’t want to wait all day for some to pop the question. I explained to the manager Rob had proposed a year ago today and we were given a 2 dollar bill that was passed down by 3 other couples. We had to continue the tradition. The manager’s reply-"You’re in the luck, you see that couple being seated, he is going to propose.” I got all teary eye and emotional. I can’t believe this was really going to happen.

Rob and I were seated shortly after. We waited for the guy to pop the question. After he proposed we gave the newly engaged couple a minute or two. Rob and I approached their table and told them all about the tradition. The couple were so excited and promised to continue the tradition. I hope we made their engagement a little more special.

Blissful Night

On an occasions I like to be romantic. I surprised Robert with a candlelight dinner.

Mood:
I lit up all of my tea light (nicely placed in mercury votives…left overs from the wedding) as well as the Christmas tree lights. Kenny G for background music. Silhouette and the wedding song are our favorites.

Food:
Cooked Salmon and served with lime salad. Freshly cut baguettes and served with bread dip. Martinelli’s Sparkling cider (we don’t drink alcohol ).

Salmon: Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Seasoning and squeezed freshly cut lime (very easy)
Bread Dip: Red Vinegar, Olive Oil, Oregano, Salt and Pepper mixed together
Salad: Lettuce,Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Salt and Pepper. I squeezed Lime (NOT lime juice) all over. Very simple but seriously delicious!! Salt, pepper and lime can do wonders.

Light but a healthy Meal. I managed to set the mood and have the meal prepared just in time. Everything was ready when Rob walked in. He was pretty surprised.

Change of Watch

Last night Rob bought me a small tort shel watch. This morning I noticed the watch was scratched. I took it back to Macy in hopes for an exchange. Macy’s only had the display watch available. The watch was also scratched and worse than the one I was trying to exchange. The watch was returned.

We went over to the Michael Kors store in search of the same watch. Just my luck they no longer carry that watch. Instead, Rob bought me a new one. It’s bigger than what I wanted but definitely not oversized.

Electric Visual

I enjoy working at Electric Visual Head Quarters. We have a wide selections of shades. The collection is amazing and I can’t stop ordering sunglasses.

For those who don’t know, Volcom bought Electric a while back. All electric employees receive a Volcom employee discount. This means, I place non-stop orders for Robert. Oh I love to buy clothes for my husband. I’m lucky to have such a GREAT discount on shorts, pants (jeans), polos, tees, accessories, and etc. Rob has over 20 pairs of shorts and countless Electric and Volcom tees.

Volcom was recently purchased by PPR. PPR owns some of the top luxury brands in the industry.
PPR extended Puma discount to all employees. I haven’t bought anything yet. Crossing my fingers we get a discount at YSL.

Date Night

We decided to try a new italian restaurant in Newport. Sadly we didn’t make any reservation. The wait was 40 minutes. I wasn’t about to eat pasta at 9pm. So we headed to PF Chang at Fashion Island. Rob wasn’t too excited about it. He’s a chain restaurant SNOB.

The wait wasn’t too bad at PF Chang. We were able to stroll around and check out the stores. Rob bought me a cute tort color watch. Tort is one of my favorite colors.

I’m not a fan of the huge gold watches. I like small watches that look feminine. Nothing against those who prefer the big watches.

Ann Taylor Goodies

I received some goodies today.

Christmas with the Perls

I decided to put the tree up early. It took us all morning to decorate our 9ft tree. I’m very pleased on how it looks.

My First BIG purchase

I bought a Honda CRV. I originally wanted an Acura just like Robert. Rob didn’t agree.

We made a deal that my only financial obligations are my car payment and buying whatever my little heart desires. Rob thought that I would complain to much if my payments were too high. He had a point so I decided to go with a CRV. The car is very nice and has all of the fancy gadgets. I’m very pleased.

However, I wish I would have bought the RX Lexus instead. It’s too late now. Rob suggested waiting 2 years and then trade the vehicle. Not a bad plan.

It has navigation and a backup camera

From Bakersfield to Home Sweet Home Irvine

Before we even met, Rob bought a 3 bedroom house in Bakersfield. I persuaded Robert in moving to Irvine so I could be closer to my family and my job. Robert managed to sell the house a month after we moved to Irvine and found a job in matter of 2 weeks. Everything seemed to fit into place. We never had to put the house on the market. Rob sold it to a co-worker. Rob now commutes to Long Beach but once in a while gets to work from the Irvine office.

We found a great apartment close to the freeway and just minutes from South Coast Plaza, Irvine Spectrum and the block. I’m in heaven. I have my favorite stores close to me. Our apartment is small but good enough for us. We live in a gated community thats dog friendly.

We have 2 dogs, Chloe and Rusty. We love them dearly even tough they drive us nuts. We seriously take them out 3 to 4 times a day. Oh I can’t wait for the day we have a yard.

Rob’s first home

Our Irvine Apartment

One of my favorite purchases-antique burlap chair

All we need is a dresser and 2 night stands.

As you can see I love neutral colors

We plan to live in an apartment for a year or two until we find a town home.

I Just Can’t Help Falling in Love

Robert and I got married July 7th. We married in the San Diego Temple. Our reception was held at the Hacienda.

It was an intimate affair of only 75 guest. Basically, only the ones Robert and I truly love and care for.

Our wedding day was perfect.
